A POS data display camera system is provided to enable an image observer to monitor an original image inputted from a camera. A processor(202) of a signal synthesizing unit(200) outputs a CPU command signal to a command decoder(206). The command decoder receives at least one signal parallel converted in the second serial decoder(205). An OSD overlay/VBI(Vertical Blanking Interval) insertion unit(208) reads text information from the second memory by using a signal inputted from a display RAM(207). The OSD overlay/VBI insertion unit overlaps an image signal with the information or inserts a signal inputted from the display RAM into a VBI interval of the image signal. A POS data display device analyzes a VBI signal to divide POS information if the POS signal is combined in the image signal by an invisible mode.
