PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system capable of automatically downloading data from a server device in case of a fault and capable of converting a data file. SOLUTION: The communication system comprises: a first communication device for transmitting to the effect when a download completion predicted time exceeds a file conversion completion requested time; a start request time table on which a second flag indicating whether the download start request time is effective is effectively rewritten upon receiving the exceeding notice transmitted by the first communication device; and a second communication device. The second communication device has: a communication means for downloading data of the server device when the second flag is effective and for transmitting a first file name of the downloaded data; and a converting means for converting the data of the first file name transmitted by the second communication means, into character codes.
