CARBONATE COMPOSITE AND PROCESS FOR PRODUCING THEREOF

A carbonate composite and a fabricating method thereof are provided to produce a lithium nickel manganese cobalt composite oxide showing high specific surface area and high tap density. A method for fabricating a carbonate composite comprises: a first step of preparing a first solution including nickel salt, manganese salt and cobalt salt and a second solution including metal carbonate or metal hydrogen carbonate; a second step of adding the first and second solutions to a third solution including the negative ions the same as those of nickel salt, manganese salt and cobalt salt in the first solution and the negative ions the same as those of metal carbonate or metal hydrogen carbonate in the second solution; and a third step of inducing a reaction to obtain carbonate composites. The nickel salt, manganese salt and cobalt salt of the first solution represent sulfate or chloride salt.
