PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmitter and radio communication device using the same capable of reducing power consumption by shortening a transmission time. SOLUTION: A transmitter 11 includes: a transmission unit 13 which transmits various signals to a receiver 12; a reception unit 15 which receives a response signal transmitted from the receiver 12 in response to the transmission of various signals to the receiver 12 from the transmission unit 13; a transmission/reception control unit 14 which controls the reception unit 15 and the transmission unit 13; and a reception specifying unit 16 which specifies a reception timing of an intermittent reception of the receiver 12 when a response signal is received from the receiver 12. The transmission/reception control unit 14 decides a transmission start timing and a transmission continuation time of various signals according to the reception timing specified by the reception specifying unit 16.
