The device (10) has an extensively expanded layer structure (12) with a receiving area (31) formed between material layers (16, 20) that are spaced at a distance from each other. The receiving area is filled with an electrorheological and/or magnetorheological liquid (32) i.e. silicone oil, where the material layers of the layer structure are movable relatively to each other in a direction (36) transverse to an expansion surface (14) of the layer structure or another direction (38) parallel to the expansion surface. The material layers are made of a metallic material, fiber-reinforced composite or carbon fibers.
