LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE AND METHOD OF FABRICATING THE SAME

A liquid crystal display device and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to remove the afterimage caused by the residual DC voltage by using a discharging layer for discharging the DC voltage. A liquid crystal display device comprises the first and second substrates(100, 200) which face each other, a liquid crystal layer(300), a pixel electrode, a common electrode, a black matrix(210), a color filter pattern(220), an overcoat layer(230), an alignment layer(250) and the first discharging layer. The liquid crystal layer is interposed between the first and second substrates. The pixel electrode and common electrode are alternatively arranged on the first substrate. The black matrix is arranged on the second substrate and has an opening unit for exposing the second substrate. The color filter pattern is arranged on the opening unit.
