<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor current detecting device capable of obtaining a precise motor current, and to provide an air conditioner having the same. <P>SOLUTION: The motor current detecting device 9 includes a GND wire 93, a momentary current detecting unit 95, an average current detecting unit 96, and a calculating unit 99. A motor current Im and a drive current Id flow through the GND wire 93 into a second fan motor 81 and into a second motor driver 82 that drives the second fan motor 81, respectively. The momentary current detecting unit 95 detects the momentary value of the sum of the motor current Im and the drive current Id that flow through the GND wire 93. The average current detecting unit 96 detects the average of the sum of the motor current Im and the drive current Id that flow through the GND wire 93.
