AQUEOUS DISPERSION, RECORDING LIQUID USING IT, IMAGE-FORMING METHOD AND IMAGE-FORMING APPARATUS, AS WELL AS MANUFACTURING METHOD OF AQUEOUS DISPERSION, AND INK OBTAINED THEREBY FOR USE IN INKJET

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous dispersion capable of making an ink which contains such particles of a water-insoluble coloring material of a pigment as have uniformly been microparticulated and have a good dispersibility, and besides, which suppresses the viscosity build-up and offers an ejection stability and a high light resistance; a recording liquid using it, an image-forming method and an image-forming apparatus, as well as to provide such a method for manufacturing an aqueous dispersion as is capable of preparing the above excellent characteristic aqueous dispersion with a good efficiency and a high purity; and an ink obtained thereby for use in inkjet.

SOLUTION: The aqueous dispersion which disperses the particles of a water-insoluble coloring material comprised of at least one kind of a pigment into a medium containing water and a dispersant, is characterized in that the above water-insoluble coloring material has a crystal structure, and the above particles has an average particle diameter of 5-40 nm and has the degree of monodispersity of 1.5 or less.
