PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a HID lighting device capable of shortening a period from a time of re-lighting of the HID lamp 12 to stabilized luminous flux after passing a certain period from lighting-off, to stabilized luminous flux. SOLUTION: Cooling of a HID lamp 12 is prevented by turning-on a heat source 20 at the time of turning-off the HID lamp 12 wherein the heat source 20 for heating the HID lamp 12 is arranged in the vicinity of the hot-restarting HID lamp 12. Even when re-lighting the HID lamp 12 after passing a certain period from a time of turning-off, a period for stabilizing luminous flux can be shortened. Further, overheating and useless power consumption can be prevented since the heat source 20 is turned off at the time of lighting the HID lamp 12. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
