The stringed instrument playing robot 100 includes a left-hand section 11 having a finger section for pushing a string 51 onto a finger plate 52, a left-hand actuator 13 for changing a distance between the finger plate 52 and a finger section 40 so as to push a string 51 to the finger plate 52, and an arm actuator 17 for changing a pushing position of the string by moving a left-hand section 11.
