PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To distinguish kinds, producing districts and processing histories of works during application of a cooling process in which works after evisceration are fed to a chiller tank or even after the application and to improve a cooling effect more than the conventional method in a cooling process during a chicken meat processing process. SOLUTION: In the apparatus for cooling edible birds equipped with a chiller tank 4 to which poultry carcasses 1 after evisceration during a chicken meat processing process and a conveying apparatus 12 for conveying the poultry carcasses fed to the tank in a state in which the poultry carcasses 1 are divided into each block, small bodies 32 for distinguishing and displaying kinds, producing districts or processing histories of the poultry carcasses 1 are fed to the same blocks as those of the poultry carcasses 1 or between the blocks and cooled while being conveyed. Thereby the kind, producing district or processing history of each edible bird block is distinguished. Preferably the insides of the poultry carcasses 1 are filled with ice before the poultry carcasses 1 are fed to the chiller tank 4 to improve a cooling effect. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
