HYDROGEN PRODUCTION AND CARBON DIOXIDE RECOVERY METHOD AND APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for efficiently carrying out high-purity hydrogen production and carbon dioxide recovery.

SOLUTION: The hydrogen production and carbon dioxide recovery method for producing hydrogen from carbon-containing fuel and recovering carbon dioxide includes: a step of separating hydrogen while reforming carbon-containing fuel with a reformer including a hydrogen-permeable membrane to obtain gas which has permeated the hydrogen-permeable membrane and reformer off-gas which does not permeate the hydrogen-permeable membrane; a step of separating the reformer off-gas with a hydrogen separation membrane into hydrogen-enriched gas which is gas enriched with hydrogen and hydrogen separation membrane off-gas which is gas enriched with components other than hydrogen; and a step of separating the hydrogen separation membrane off-gas with a carbon dioxide separation membrane into carbon dioxide-enriched gas which is gas enriched with carbon dioxide and carbon dioxide separation membrane off-gas which is gas enriched with components other than carbon dioxide. The apparatus for performing this method is also provided.
