PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce deviation of an elastic belt in a belt conveying device. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus U includes a belt conveying device BM. The belt conveying device BM is provided with belt supporting members Rj1, Rj2, Rj3, Rj4, Rw1, Rw2, T1 and T2a and belt deviation reducing members Gb and Gb. The belt supporting members are provided with load member counter rolls T2a and Rj2 to which an elastic belt B is suspended while load members T2b and CL2 applying external loads to the endless elastic belt B is brought into contact with the elastic belt B, a drive member PR rotating the elastic belt B, and a suspension roll Rj1 arranged on the belt rotational direction upstream side of the drive member PR and the belt rotational direction downstream side of the load member counter rolls T2a and Rj2. The belt deviation reducing members are brought into contact with the end lug part of the belt B protruded from the end parts of the suspension roll Rj1 so that the end lug parts are narrowed as the suspension roll Rj1 moves to the outside end part for reducing deviation of the elastic belt B.
