PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable terminal device and a lifetime determination method of a secondary battery capable of determining more easily the lifetime of the secondary battery. SOLUTION: This portable terminal device is equipped with a using state determination part for determining whether the portable terminal device is in use or not; a lifetime determination part for determining whether the secondary battery is dead or not based on a battery capacity consumption rate calculated by a battery capacity consumption rate calculation means and a specified value of the battery capacity consumption rate set beforehand, when determined that the portable terminal device is not in use by the using state determination part; and a notification control part for controlling notification of the effect that the secondary battery is dead, when determined that the secondary battery is dead by the lifetime determination part.
