PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mesoporous silica structure formed by using a surfactant template in cylindrical alumina micropores. SOLUTION: A method for producing one dimensional silica nanochannel structure having a channel diameter of at least 8 nm, which is a size enabling to create a composite by inserting protein, is provided. The method comprises the steps of: allowing an alumina film to absorb a precursor solution containing a triblock copolymer based surfactant as a template; introducing the precursor solution into cylindrical alumina micropores formed in the alumina film; and then drying the product in the cylindrical alumina micropores, to form a one dimensional silica nanaochannel structure, which has a channel diameter of at least 8 nm.
