<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an inkjet recording medium has superior cutting strength and peel strength while maintaining high gloss, printing density and ink absorbency. <P>SOLUTION: This inkjet recording medium is manufactured in such a manner that a water-absorbing inorganic pigment, a lower-layer coating composition and an upper-layer coating composition are sequentially applied onto an air-permeable substrate and subjected to casting treatment. The lower-layer coating composition contains a dispersion of a polyurethane resin, in which tensile strength specified by JIS K7311 is in the range of 30-70 MPa, in which elongation specified by JIS K7311 is in the range of 300-800%, and in which a particle diameter measured by a dynamic light scattering method is in the range of 10-100 nm.
