The device has a cylindrical gripping handle (1) articulated on a base between a rest position and an extreme actuating position. The handle has a control finger (4) driving a reversing lever (6) pivotably mounted on the base and connected to a lock. The lever has a hook shaped free end engaging in a notch of the finger. The lever has a V-shape in which the finger is supported longitudinally in rest position of the handle and is slidingly guided at the time of pivoting the handle from the rest position to the actuating position by exerting traction on the handle.
