PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high performance rope which can be replaced by high strength metal fibers, has a high elastic modulus, is light and has a high strength. SOLUTION: This rope is constituted by sheath-core type polybenzazole fibers having little deterioration in strength, even when exposed under high temperature and high humidity and under the irradiation with light, containing lubricating fats or oils or a resin component in an amount of≥0.9 wt.% between the fibers, and having≥5,200 cycles until breakage in an abrasion test. The rate of a cross-sectional diameter on the inside of a cylindrical structure is 10 to 90% based on the whole diameter of the fiber. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
