PROCESS FOR PRODUCING HERBICIDE RESISTANT TRANSGENIC SWEETPOTATO PLANTS BY AGROBACTERIUM-MEDIATED TRANSFORMATION

A method of producing herbicide resistant transgenic sweet potato plants is provided to produce transgenic sweet potato plants using by Agrobacterium-mediated transformation, to show herbicide resistance and to increase a productivity of the sweet potato plants by increasing a tolerance to a biological/non-biological stress. A method of producing herbicide resistant transgenic sweet potato plants by Agrobacterium-mediated transformation comprises steps of: (1) obtaining Agrobacterium transformant in which a bar gene is introduced by transforming Agrobacterium spp. to a vector including bialaphos resistance gene bar; (2) selecting a herbicide resistance callus after infecting an embryogenic callus to the Agrobacterium transformant; and (3) selecting herbicide resistant transgenic sweet potato plants after resubdividing sweet potato plants from the herbicide resistance callus of the step (2).
