PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a functional gatepost with a neat appearance, facilitate a wiring operation, and prevent rainwater from seeping into a portion that houses electrical wiring. SOLUTION: A wiring box 18 is mounted on one of the right and left sides of a gatepost body 2 having a wiring passage 5 formed inside, and an electrical device (interphone device 19) is provided in the wiring box 18. The electrical wiring in the wiring passage 5 is drawn out of the gatepost body 2, is introduced into the wiring box 18, and connected to the electrical device. The wiring box 18 comprises a box body 21 with a wiring operation opening 16 formed in its rear face, and a removable lid body 22 for closing the wiring operation opening 16 of the box body 21. A doorplate unit 3c having a display part on its front is installed on the upper face of the box body 21. A cover part 54 protrudes downwards from the rear end portion of the doorplate unit 3c.
