<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plastic substrate in which moisture or gas can be prevented from permeating through end surfaces of the substrate, and a method of manufacturing the plastic substrate. <P>SOLUTION: The plastic substrate 10 contains resin 13 and a glass fiber 14. The interface of the glass fiber 14 and the resin 13 on the end surface of the substrate 10 is covered with a molten solidified material 12 of the glass fiber 14. The molten solidified material 12 is formed in such a way that the molten material of the glass fiber 14 melted by the irradiation of a laser beam is cooled in a process of cutting the plastic substrate 10 using the laser beam. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
