摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new non-human animal that produces aβ-amyloid peptide (A-β), disorders metabolism/excretion and is especially suitable as a model for sporadic Alzheimer's disease. SOLUTION: The knockout non-human animal, having a disorder in metabolism/excretion of A-β, is obtained by making a gene that encodesαTTP (α-tocopherol transfer protein) delete from a non-human animal, having mutation in gene that encodes at least one selected from amyloid precursor protein (APP), presenilin 1 (PS1) and presenilin (PS2). The knockout non-human animal is the first model animal of AD (Alzheimer's disease) development mechanism, in which production and accumulation of endogenous A-βoccur in the brain, and AD is actually developed.
