<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rolling bearing spindle usable even in an oil-averse atmosphere. <P>SOLUTION: In the rolling bearing spindle 1, a seal portion 22 isolates a ventilation passage 12 from a discharge passage 23. Sealing gas 19 is supplied from a supply port 18 through a supply passage 17 to at least one of the seal portion 22 and the discharge passage 23. The sealing gas 19 is supplied to the seal portion 22 to form a non-contact seal in a clearance between a disc 4 and a porous carbon 20. Part of the sealing gas 19 is exhausted through the seal portion 22 and an exhaust passage 15 from an exhaust port 16, and another part is exhausted through the discharge passage 23 from an opening portion 13. Thus, cooling gas 14 for cooling a motor 9 contacts rolling bearings 7, 8 in the ventilation passage 12 and includes oil content, but it is exhausted through the exhaust passage 15 from the exhaust port 16, therefore greatly reducing the possibility of discharging the oil content from the opening portion 13 to the outside. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
