<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a corner pole device for an automobile for improving design of a vehicle 2 by making compact, and not for breaking a bumper 3 even when a garnish 13 comes into contact with an obstacle. <P>SOLUTION: This corner pole device 1 for an automobile comprises a corner pole device body 12 having a retractable pole assembly 10 and drive means 11 retracting the pole assembly 10, and a garnish 13 projecting to a through hole 15 formed on an inclined face of the bumper 3 and covering the pole assembly 10. The garnish 13 comprises an opening hole 24 bearing the pole assembly 10 and provided at the top, and a connection part 25 connected with the bumper 3 and provided at the bottom.
