<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of accurately adjusting the timing of writing an image by each of image forming sections. <P>SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus 1 in which color registration is controlled, a detecting time for which a density sensor 6 detects at least one of test patterns 5K, 5C, 5M, and 5Y is calculated when the color registration is controlled. This detecting time and a prestored set time are compared. If the detecting time is longer than the set time, an image formation preparing operation is performed for polishing each of photoreceptor drums 21, and the color registration is controlled again after that. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
