<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically lay out and output a geographic region containing a map element to be output. <P>SOLUTION: A map data processing method includes: a step of extracting, from a map data storage section storing map data containing a plurality of map elements, a plurality of map elements satisfying prescribed conditions; a step of specifying, out of multiple kinds of output frames so predetermined as to constitute all the output allowing areas in one page by itself or by being combined, the smallest output frame containing at least one extracted map element after fixing the reduction scale of all the extracted map elements; a step of clipping the geographic region corresponding to each specified output frame out of the map data; and a step of embedding the clipped geographic region into all the output allowing areas in one page and generate output data. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
