PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain content character information TXc suggesting the content of input imaging data.

SOLUTION: Input video feature data TS showing features of an image constituting the input imaging data are extracted from the image according to a prescribed extracting method to detect accumulated feature data DSa similar to the input video feature data TS in an image-text database 42 wherein representative feature data DSr extracted from representative image data PDr according to the same extracting method with the input video feature data TS and image text information TX representing contents of the representative image data PDr are registered. Further, image text information TX corresponding to the detected accumulated feature data DSa is acquired from the image-text database 42 as content character information TXc representing the content of an image (input video signal TS) as an extraction source of the input video feature data TS.
