In the production of a calibration body, gauge or measuring device, consisting at least partly of carbon-silicon carbide (C-SiC) material (I) formed from a porous, carbon-containing starting material (II) infiltrated with liquid silicon (Si) (to be at least partially converted into silicon carbide by reaction with carbon), (II) is based on a carbon felt material, carbon material with fine, open pores and/or pyrolyzed wood. An independent claim is included for a calibration body, gauge or measuring device, consisting at least partly of (I) formed from a porous, carbon-containing starting material infiltrated with liquid Si (at least partially converted into SiC by reaction with carbon), where (I) is free of carbon fibers and contains 70-90 wt. % Si plus SiC and 1-30 wt. % carbon. |
