PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing roller having excellent adhesiveness between a shaft and a coating layer, and continuously providing a high-quality toner image. SOLUTION: The developing roller is constituted so that the coating layer having a resin and a conducting agent is directly formed on a periphery of the shaft comprising at least an aluminum alloy, wherein the aluminum alloy contains 0.2 to 0.8% by mass of silicon element and 0.05 to 1.5% by mass of manganese element, based on the total mass of the aluminum alloy.
