A lens apparatus, an image capturing apparatus, and a method for correcting image quality are provided to perform an image correction process in real time by using color aberration correction information and periphery intensity defect correction information from the lens apparatus. A lens apparatus includes a lens and is attached to an image capturing apparatus. The lens apparatus includes a lens information memory(17), a communication unit(30), and a controller(16). The lens information memory stores aberration characteristics of the lens including magnification color aberration correction information and periphery intensity defect correction information. The communication unit communicates with the image capturing apparatus. When a command is received from the image capturing apparatus using the communication unit, the controller transmits the magnification color aberration correction information and the periphery intensity defect correction information to the image capturing apparatus by using the communication unit.
