PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packaging case for an electro-optical device which facilitates the work of housing the electro-optical device, and to provide a display module. SOLUTION: In the packaging case 200 having a housing part 201 being a recessed part for housing the electro-optical device 500, a forwardly tapered taper part 213, in which the size of an opening is extended toward an opening direction, is formed in a position facing a side face part of the electro-optical device 500, of a side face part of the housing part 201, and the electro-optical device 500 is positioned in a plane direction by a corner part 214 between a bottom part 211 and the taper part 213.
