The motor vehicle door has a storage compartment (1) forms by a recess (2) in a door lining (3) extending in vertical direction. An arch-shaped segment (7) is attached at the two lateral boundary areas of the cover (4). The two arch-shaped segments, parallel to each other, are arranged in a level perpendicularly to the width extension of the cover. The arc-shaped segments are rolled up by pivoting the cover at the door lining such that during the opening of cover the segments are simultaneously lowered on the basis of rolling motion.
