摘要 #CMT# #/CMT# The method involves determining a waiting configuration state of a optical wavelength processing module e.g. wavelength static relay (34), disposed as a shared protection module for a wavelength channel (`l) according to configuration states such as blocking and passing states, of optical wavelength processing modules such as wavelength static relays (14, 24), disposed as protection modules for the channel. Control signals are produced for configuring the shared protection module in the waiting configuration state for the channel. #CMT# : #/CMT# Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a programmable device comprising a storage unit (2) an optical processing device comprising wavelength processing modules and a controlling unit. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Method for controlling an optical wavelength processing module e.g. wavelength selector switch, wavelength static relay, micro electro mechanical system (MEMS) type component, liquid crystal type component (all claimed) and optical switching matrix, disposed as a shared protection module from a set of optical wavelength processing modules disposed as a protection modules, in a optical transparent or photonic switching node in which signals are transferred while remaining in an optical field without electronic conversion, for a network of a wavelength-division multiplexing (WDM). #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The waiting configuration state of the optical wavelength processing module disposed as the shared protection module for the wavelength channel is determined in a restate manner according to the configuration states of the optical wavelength processing modules disposed as the protection modules for the channel, thus allowing the shared protection module to be reconfigured in the restate manner even if the shared protection module is not in the service, and hence avoiding the malfunctioning related to prolonged inactivity such as mechanical blocking, of the shared protection module.
