PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform an ice making operation without problems by demounting an ice tray and recognizing a mounting timing and a state of the water in the ice tray, in a refrigerator comprising an automatic ice making machine. SOLUTION: This refrigerator with the ice making machine comprises a water supplying operation means 3 for supplying water to the ice tray, an ice tray driving means 5 for separating ice from the ice tray, an ice tray presence/absence detecting means 24 for detecting the presence/absence of the ice tray, an ice-making detecting means 25 provided with an infrared ray sensor for detecting a state of the water in the ice tray, and an ice-making determining means 26 for judging the presence/absence of the water in the ice tray and the production of ice on the basis of an output signal from the ice-making detecting means 25. An automatic ice-making control means 40 controls the water supplying operation means 3 and the ice tray driving means 5, the ice tray driving operation and the water supplying operation are stopped by a signal from an ice-making stopping means 33, and starting times of the ice tray driving operation and the water supplying operation are controlled on the basis of signals from the ice tray presence/absence detecting means 24 and the ice-making determining means 26.
