The circuit has a capacitor circuit (102) with three capacitors (109, 115, 121) and three capacitor-current passage units, where the capacitor current passage units are controlled such that the current passage units are opened sequentially such that the load on the three capacitors is transferred to one preset capacitor of the capacitor circuit for providing an output voltage (Vout). A capacitor, whose node is connected with respective current passage unit that is to be opened, provides a boost voltage to its another node before the current passage unit is opened. An independent claim is also included for a method for providing an output voltage.
