The device has an initial undulation detection unit detecting an undulation cycle. A characteristic detection unit detects undulation characteristic from an armature current emitted in an output of a motor e.g. direct current machine. Undulation detection units detect an undulation by comparing an undulation characteristic with the detected undulation characteristic. The detection units estimate that the undulation is generated, when the characteristic of a temporal point before a current temporal point and the characteristic of the current temporal point resemble each other.
