A high efficiency refrigeration system for saving energy and a control method thereof are provided to operate a compressor requiring high power at a low compression rate by maximally utilizing a heat source of a condenser, thereby increasing operation efficiency of the compressor. A refrigerant liquid pressure control valve(101) controls a high pressure refrigerant liquid to refrigerant supply pressure proposed for capacity selection of an expansion valve(8). A gas/liquid heat exchanger(102) removes flash gas generated by decompression of the high pressure refrigerant liquid of the pressure control valve and carries out heat exchange between refrigerant gas of low temperature and low pressure and the refrigerant liquid, wherein the refrigerant gas is converted to a low temperature and low pressure state from the high pressure refrigerant liquid from which the fresh gas is removed while passing through an electronic valve(7) for a liquid pipe, the expansion valve, and an evaporator(1).
