A horizontal adjusting leg and a washing machine having thereof is provided to maintain balanced state of the washing machine by balancing the washing machine automatically using an elastic member and fixing a piston rod to a body by using a strain unit after installation of the washing machine. A horizontal adjusting leg(1) of a washing machine comprises a body(10), a piston(20), a piston rod(22), an elastic member(30), a strain unit. The strain unit has a spiral unit(14), a rod spiral unit(26), a nut hole(42), and a cap(40) wherein a neck combining unit is formed at an endostyle of a side wall. The elastic member is compressed by weight of the washing machine and balancing the washing machine. The strain unit fixes distance between the body and the piston. The spiral unit is formed at a bottom surface of the washing machine and at one end of the body. The rod spiral unit is formed at a longitudinal direction of the piston rod. The nut hole is formed at a center part of the bottom of the cap. The nut hole is screw-joined with the rod spiral unit. The neck combining unit is screw-joined with the spiral unit.
