SINGLE MODE LIGHT SOURCE DEVICE HAVING EXTERNAL CAVITY

A single mode light source device having an external cavity is provided to realize a light source device based on a conventional packaging structure without a separate means by using an incident plane of an optical fiber as a reflection plane instead of a separate apparatus such as a mirror or optical fiber lattices. A single mode light source device having an external cavity includes a laser diode(10), a lens(20), and an optical fiber(30). The laser diode(10) has an internal cavity which generates at least one light signal having at least one wavelength. The lens(20) collects the light signals. The optical fiber(30) for transmission transmits the light signals collected in the lens(20). The external cavity structure is formed so as to generate single mode oscillation between an emitting plane of the laser diode(10) and an incident plane of the optical fiber(30) which is tilted at a predetermined angle.
