PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly effective printability improver. SOLUTION: The printability improver essentially comprises (a) a water-soluble vinyl copolymer with acrylamide (A1) and a copolymerization vinyl monomer(A2) as the essential constitutive monomers, (b) water, (c) a liquid hydrocarbon and (d) a surfactant. In this improver, the monomer (A2) is preferably (meth)acrylic acid(salt), the molar ratio A1/A2 is preferably (50:50) to (95:5), and the contents of the components (a), (b), (c) and (d) are preferably 10-50 wt.%, 20-70 wt.%, 10-40 wt.% and 1-30 wt.%, respectively based on the weight of (a), (b), (c) and (D).
