<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an optical unit for optical fusion, a unit capable of forming three or more optical spots in a desired array pattern and that facilitates displacement of optical spots and adjustment of optical energy distribution to each optical spot, and also to obtain an optical fusing apparatus and method. <P>SOLUTION: A luminous flux outgoing from an emitting end of an optical fiber F is converted into a converged luminous flux 160 by a converging optical system 110 and split into N (≥3) pieces of optical paths by an optical path splitting member 200. The optical path splitting member 200 is provided with N pieces of prism parts, with their configuration set so that the array of the N pieces of fusion optical spots to be formed on the optical fusing face becomes a desired array pattern. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
