摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily uniformize absorption distribution of excitation light with laser element for improved lateral mode characteristics, in a semiconductor laser-excited solid laser equipment which uses a plate-like uniaxial laser material of side surface excitation type. SOLUTION: The semiconductor laser-excited solid laser equipment excites solid laser material 102 by semiconductor laser to provide laser output using an optical resonator. The solid laser material 102 uses a plate-like uniaxial crystal, of which excitation is done in the direction orthogonal to the laser output direction. The semiconductor laser (LD) beam is made incident so that c-axis direction of the solid laser material 102 comes to be parallel to a polarizing direction 101 of the LD, with the beam being reflected by a plurality of times inside the solid laser material 102 for absorption.
