A remote starter and a power-saving control method thereof are provided to operate a smart key(remote starter) only when movement of the smart key(remote starter) is sensed by a movement sensor, thereby reducing power consumption of a battery. A movement sensor(370) senses movement of a remote starter(300). A high frequency transmitter(320) transmits intrinsic information of the remote starter(300) to an ECU(Electronic Control Unit) of a vehicle through a transmission antenna(330). A low frequency receiver(340) receives a signal sent from the ECU through a receiving antenna. A micro controller(310) is woken up by a movement signal sensed by the sensor(370) or is changed into a sleep mode state, makes the transmitter and the receiver(320,340) become in active state in case of the wake-up state, and makes the transmitter and the receiver(320,340) become in sleep state in case of the sleep mode, then sends the intrinsic information to the transmitter(320) as receiving the signal received through the receiver(340). A power unit(360) supplies power essential for each component. |
