PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power steering system capable of automatically performing steering control if it is determined that a driver is drowsy even in case of using a hydraulic actuator. SOLUTION: This power steering system includes a steering shaft connected to a steering wheel, a hydraulic power cylinder connected to the steering shaft and having a pair of hydraulic pressure chambers, a pump for feeding the power cylinder with hydraulic pressure, a steering shaft drive portion for providing the steering shaft with torque with the hydraulic pressure from the pump, an environmental information detector for detecting information on a vehicle, a driver and roads, and a hydraulic pressure control portion for controlling the hydraulic pressure provided to the steering shaft drive portion based on an output signal from the environmental information detector.
