PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for detecting correct data bits in a wobble phase modulation type disk while detecting and protecting first and second synchronization signals different in appearance cycle and pattern and further to provide a recording-controllable optical disk recording device of a land prepit type by providing a means of converting address information detected from the wobble phase modulation type disk into a land prepit signal. SOLUTION: In a synchronization detection and protection method, first and second synchronization signals which are phase-modulated in a reproduced wobble signal from the wobble phase modulation type disk are different in appearance cycle and pattern respectively, and the first and second synchronization signals are detected to perform cycle protection of the first synchronization signal from a phase modulation part for the reproduced wobble signal and also perform cycle protection of the second synchronization signal by using a detection result of the first synchronization signal.
