COLOR LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY

A color LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) is provided to form a shield member between a seal member and a display area in order to prevent the contamination of a liquid crystal layer due to the pollution materials. A color filter substrate(2) has plural coloring layers formed with predetermined patterns on a display area of a transparent substrate. Opposite electrode substrate(3) is arranged with a predetermined distance opposite to the color filter substrate. A seal member(4) seals a gap between both substrates. A liquid crystal layer(5) is injected into the gap between both substrates. A pole shape convex member maintains the distance between both substrates. A shielding member(14) is arranged between the seal member and the display area so that the liquid crystal materials within the liquid crystal layer is not contaminated due to the pollutant from the seal member. The shielding member is made of the same materials as the pole shape convex member. At least a portion of the shielding member is formed on at least one dummy coloring layer(13) formed on the black matrix installed at the outside of the display area.
