<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power generation control method and a device by brake operation for further simultaneously perfecting even a safety measure on travel while expanding the electric automobile function for restraining gasoline consumption. <P>SOLUTION: The power generation control device is constituted so that a power generation gear 4a or a belt is installed in a front position for shifting engine motive power by a transmission 3, and much of the engine motive power can be used for power generation with a constitution for generating electric power by connecting only in braking by being normally put in an unconnected state, and excessive torque to an engine without depending on shift-down by its power generation can be used as an engine brake.
