A document (16) including a substrate (18) and an information marking (44) printed on the substrate. The substrate (18) has a front side (30), a rear side (32) and a perimeter side edge (34). The perimeter side edge (34) has a substantially smaller size than the front side and the rear side. The information marking (44) is printed on the perimeter side edge (34) of the substrate (18). The information marking (44) includes multi-spectral encoding tags adapted to be read in a direction towards the perimeter side edge (34).
