PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processor, a method, and a program, which are adaptive to reproduction of data encoded in a plurality of compression and encoding formats and start expanding a frequently used decoding program before an object of reproduction is selected to speedily reproduce the object of reproduction in many cases. SOLUTION: All data files on a memory card 104 are listed and displayed as a reproduced file specification picture 501. A user selects a data file to be reproduced in the reproduced file specification picture 501. Once the reproduced file specification picture 501 is displayed, a video CODEC and an audio CODEC which are used most for many data files among the plurality of data files displayed in a current page are immediately decided and those CODECs begin to be downloaded to a program memory 107 prior to selection of the data file to be reproduced by the user.
