PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmitter capable of utilizing an external storage means as a collective transmission box. SOLUTION: A file server 5 has stored data (e.g. image data) associated with a transmission destination and a transmission timing. An MFP (Multi Functional Peripheral) 1 acquires the image data stored in the file server 5, and converts the acquired image data into data for facsimile transmission with a CODEC 20. The MFP 1 uses a modem 18 to transmit the converted data to the transmission destination associated with the image data at the transmission timing associated with the image data via an NCU (Network Control Unit) 17.
